A Season of Giving

Dear Friend of ICA,

Parents of school-aged children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face unique challenges. For many of ICA’s students, successfully completing school is a significant accomplishment for the entire family. But, what is next? Living with ASD, the answer to that question is often blurry. Some adults may pursue higher education, move on to a day training program, or a community group home.

Funding in Illinois for adults with ASD is insufficient and based on a lottery system. For ICA, that’s $333,000 we have to raise each year to meet the needs of our adult clients. ICA works with families to provide our adult clients with education, life skills, and job skills training to increase their community involvement and employment opportunities. Our goal is to prepare each individual with the tools to live as independently as possible.

It takes a dedicated team to accomplish our goal. That team includes supporters like you who financially support our purpose and our mission. You afford us the ability to focus on meeting the complex needs of our clients so they can achieve their goals and enjoy a bright future.

So, when you are making your holiday list, please consider a monetary gift to the Illinois Center for Autism. Our goal during this holiday season is to raise $9,250, representing the funding gap required to serve just one adult client for a year.

This is the season for giving. Your gift will make a difference and together ensure we are improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

On behalf of ICA Staff, Board, and Clients may you and your family have a blessed Christmas!

Sincerely,

Rachel
